You Shall Prevail

Unfeigned Faith

Perfect faith is within my grasp.
My heart is set, I'm prepared for this task.
I will not avoid or shy away
with all my heart I will obey.
Nothing will spook me or throw me off course.
Unwaveringly You'll be my power's source.
Despite the remarks of others I will follow after You.
No interference will stop me from being steadfast and true.
As moments turn to decades my actions will continue to show:
my trust is in You and I want the world to know
You alone are God and all powerful in everything.
No circumstance will sway me, my trust is my offering.
Jesus You alone are GOD.

You're the Biggest Daddy of Them All

You're my Counselor, Protector, Provider and Friend.
You're there before I call, a shelter from hail, storm and wind.
A lover of my soul--You're pure, genuine and true.
All good things come solely from You.
When it comes to Big Papas, there's no category Your size.
There is no competition, Your value we can't recognize.
I love You and thank You for inviting me to stay
in Your loving arms where I'm perfected day by day.
Continue to me Lord, I want You to always be mine.
Don't let me wonder from Your path, prevent me from straying behind.

Blooming Flowers Praise God

A woman told me when flowers bloom they're giving praises and honor to God.
That's interesting, the obedience of that little seed once unleashed from its dark pod.
Flowers don't seem to criticize one another for the differences they have...
Nor do they seem to be envious or want to take their life down their own path.
They simply try their best to grow wherever they're placed
as they endure various weather conditions and accept God's daily grace.
They don't complain or say, "That's enough, that's it!"
They allow themselves to be trampled over, pruned, pesticided and picked.
Flowers really do praise God and it's not just with their bloom.
They take no thought of their own lives (while multiplying) for they know their King is coming soon.

Basking in the Glory of You

The blessings you see are not mine to claim.
JESUS GIVES me the resources to bring glory to His name.
When I first came to Christ, I prayed and prayed
to be used in His Kingdom and help others get saved.
In my prayers I asked to be a vessel of honor too
and let His light shine in all I do.
Jesus granted my requests and that is what you see--
the power of my God working through me.
The blessings you see are not mine to claim,
God gives me the desire and ability to bring glory to His name.

You Give Me Everything I Need, Including Yourself

Food, clothing, a nice home and more...
The ability to worship, the key to Heaven's door...
You give me so much--more than I can contain.
You've given me the knowledge of who You are and baptism in Jesus' name.
I am comfortable and at peace with the daily provision You bring.
When I delight myself in Your ways nothing is missing.
You're my Provider, Protector, Comforter and Friend,
my only God, an all knowing force within.
You bless me with the stuff that I can see and feel...
You've blessed me with a hope and a passion that's real.
I am a fortunate child who doesn't always see
the abundance of ways You have catered to me.
Your Holy Spirit is within me, from It may I  never part.
For eternity, Dear Lord, You'll be the focus of my heart.
Thank You for the tangible things but most important of all,
thank You for being within me, already there before I call.

Steady

You throw grenades at me to get me off course.
You attempt to use distractions to weaken my ministry's force.
Steadily, I glide across my appointed terrain,
getting eons closer to The Eternal Righteous Reign.
I will not waiver or stop because of you.
My wounds will be healed, my strength will renew.
Steady, steady, I continue to run,
nothing will stop me, my limit is none.
Jesus is my source and my power.
Endurance gains me a crown every minute and every hour.
Every second I am a winner because I persevere...
I am swift, I am strong, I am unwilling to veer.
I will make my boast in my King as I step on your neck.
Your shackles are putty, my victory is set.

Their Answer Remained the Same

With the affliction of disease and the burden of pain
they held to their God, their answer remained the same.
They did not change their tune or begin to bow.
They said "Jesus is God and He is with me now."
When disaster rampaged and took away their homes,
their courage became emblazoned when others fell and roamed.
Tortured and beat, lied upon and bruised
they were living sacrifices--offered to God to be used.
Their futures were clear and their skies were bright,
though to an outsider their circumstances seemed blight.
Their answer remained the same, to Jesus they remained true.
They believed in their God as He instructed them to.
Some did forsake them as they kept watch during the night.
They continued to stand their ground and said, "His Word is my light."
God's people are present and with us every day.
You know them by their actions and what they say.
When faced with everyday challenges and pestilence unrestrained,
you'll know God's people for their answer will remain the same.
No trial will be too rough and no temptation will be able to seduce
God's people from remaining faithful and rejoicing at His use.

Horribly Backslid

I have horribly backslid and I can't even tell.
Because I go to church regularly I didn't recognize my stride into hell.
I use my gifts for God so that means that we're close.
I pray for a long list of people and I pray longer than most.
Everybody knows that I'm shining star
and I keep myself humble by pretending that they are.
I think that I'm saved because I listen to sermons and shout "Amen!"
I adhere to the Word of God and my monotony doesn't end.
So I was surprised when God told me that I was falling away.
"How?" I asked him quizzically, "when from Your Word I rarely stray?"
He told me that I wasn't focused on Him and He wants my affection and heart.
He said I got caught up in routine and strayed from the romance we had at the start.
I had to admit that lately my soul was feeling a little dry.
I was caught up in religion that's why.

Weeds

.
The sun, foot traffic and meddling dogs, all these I've survived.
You want to see me die and you hate that I have thrived.
I am a weed and you can't stand my life.
In your opinion my presence is nerve racking and strife.
You take time to labor and sweat underneath the sun
until the number of weeds you see will ultimately be none.
Your hands pinch my stem and attempt to uproot me from the ground.
You're seeking my demise and you hope that you have found
an effective way to rid me from my place.
But just like the sin in your life, I'm a stubborn case.
We're both fighting for our lives and one of us has to die.
I'm a weed and just like sin I won't idly stand by.
I must grow, intrude, and invade wherever I can.
I must be this way  in order to fulfill my master's plan.
He cares for none and all he wants is to steal, kill and destroy.
Sin, just like weeds, aren't modest or coy.
We start off small and then to a fallen Christian's surprise
we've taken over a lot of ground and have the advantage to their demise.
So if you see any weeds cropping up in your soul
rid us from the root immediately to avoid our control.

Rotten on the Inside

Rotten on the inside, that could be me.
The outside might look nice, but my core you don't see.
To discern if I'm truly as I appear
consult the Lord about how to come near
to me and seek God to figure out
if I'm really what I say I'm about.
If you still have questions or you're a little unsure
seek God's holy Spirit and He'll reveal more.
Continue to seek your King and He will direct your way
on how to deal with "Saints" which may seek you for their prey.
